Athens Photo FestivalThe APhF Dummy Award feat. Chose Commune is a juried competition open to all unpublished photobooks worldwide.
Through this competition, one project will be selected as the winner and awarded a publishing contract with Chose Commune.
In addition, 10 photobooks will be featured in the APhF printed catalog, while 20 books will be shortlisted and exhibited during APhF in Athens in June/July 2026.
All selected photobooks will also be presented online in the APhF Library.
The shortlisted books are selected by an international five-member jury specializing in photobooks and photography.
What Winners Receive
• The winner will receive a contract with Chose Commune for the production of a photobook, with a production budget of up to €15,000 (minimum print run: 400 copies).
• The winner will be included in the next edition of the Athens Photo Festival main exhibition program at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138.
• 10 shortlisted photobooks will be featured in the APhF printed catalog.
• 20 shortlisted photobooks will be presented in the APhF Dummy Award feat. Chose Commune exhibition at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138 in June–July 2026.
• Free festival admission: all submitting artists will receive complimentary entry tickets to APhF:26.
• High-profile recognition through the APhF website, social media channels, and coverage across partner media and press outlets.
• All books will be housed in the Athens Photo Research Center Library.

How to Apply
• Apply using the online entry form and submit all required information and materials.
• Complete the payment.
• Send one physical copy of your submitted dummy book along with your submission form, ensuring it is postmarked no later than April 28, 2026.

• Information required for each photobook submitted:
photobook title / photographer name / year of publication / publisher, designer, editor information / project description / short biography / photobook dimensions, number of pages, edition number or print run.
• A digital version of the dummy (PDF format).
• An image of the photobook cover (JPG file).
